Formed in 2020 during the lockdown period, Young Martyrs, have built on their reputation for creating a unique blend of alt-country and alt-rock sounds. The band's self-titled debut album gained them a loyal following, and their second album, Time Is Not On Our Side,
(2023), has expanded their fan base internationally.
Their latest single, Everyone Else Disappears, combines introspective lyrics and nostalgia-laden melodies, lyrically delving into the feelings surrounding unrequited love.
These are the words of someone who's been looking at the object of their affection for too long and from too far away. He wants to know what life would look like if they shared it, but it's a dream that's just too far away; Too many rules, too many people in the way. This is the song that spills out of him when it's becoming too much. It's the life you could have if only that person knew what was happening inside your head.- Tom Corneill (Vocals)
On the live scene Young Martyrs have played several sell out shows throughout the UK, which led to them sharing the stage with the likes of Badly Drawn Boy, The Hooziers and McFly, as well as playing slots at a variety of festivals including Glastonbury and Rock Oyster.
Everyone Else Disappears
was produced with Sebastian Brice (Indefra Studios) at Real World Studios with additional recording by Ed Oleszko at Vintage Tone Factory.
The single, Everyone Else Disappears, is available through all streaming platforms.
