Dublin’s alt-rockers Skyless ignite with the latest release

Music Review | 28th Oct, 2025 Skyless Skyless

Dublin alt-rockers Skyless have been carving out a name for themselves with their signature mix of distorted guitars and haunting, delicate vocals. Since dropping their debut single my love, my runner, the band has caught attention for their introspective lyrics that dig into themes of longing, disconnect, and self-reflection.

Their sound draws from a broad palette of influences, think Sonic Youth, Cocteau Twins, The Cranberries, and Slowdive, giving Skyless a raw yet dreamy edge that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It’s that blend of candid emotion and experimentation that really sets them apart.

Their latest release, Gasoline, turns up the volume on all fronts. It’s a moody, cathartic ride, packed walls of crunching guitar, pounding drums and melancholic vocals that ache with emotion. You can hear shades of nugaze, soft grunge, and emo throughout, but it’s all filtered through Skyless’s own dark, atmospheric lens.

Lyrically, Gasoline dives into the messy aftermath of a volatile relationship, that point where things fall apart, and you’re left sifting through the wreckage.

The track was produced by AJ Das, formerly of Fulvetta and now fronting Picture Postcard, whose touch brings an added layer of depth and texture to Skyless’s already immersive sound.
