Meaths One Flew Over return with a soul-stirring new single

Music Review | 24th Oct, 2025 One Flew Over One Flew Over

Formed back in 2019, One Flew Over have been quietly carving out a sound that’s all their own, a lush mix of indie-rock, pop, soul, and vintage R&B. Hailing from Kells, Co. Meath, the duo is made up of Irene Ní Chuinn, whose powerhouse vocals command every track, and Martin Quinn, the multi-instrumentalist and producer behind their ever-evolving sound.

Their latest single, Eyes Open, is a stunning fusion of indie-rock, baroque pop, and soul, a track that feels both timeless and modern. Driven by Irene’s expressive vocals, the song builds into something raw and cinematic.

Eyes Open paints a portrait of a fallen angel with ‘so many faces,’ symbolizing the deceptive glow of early love. As the haze lifts, the narrator confronts the painful truth: nothing was real.
It’s a story of heartbreak and awakening — a visceral journey from blind devotion to brutal clarity. The kind of emotional gut-punch that lingers long after the song fades. - One Flew Over

Eyes Open marks the seventh release from One Flew Over and was self-produced by Quinn (whose credits include Ham Sandwich, Una Healy, Áine Cahill, and Hail the Ghost) at JAM Studios in Kells, Co. Meath.
