Martin Moran drops high-octane Double Bill of singles from his home studio

Recording at his home studio in Co. Meath, singer-songwriter Martin Moran continues to release high-octane, raw music, skillfully captured in what he refers to as a Double Bill of new tunes.

Moran’s dropped quite a few tracks over the past few years, and his output has been pretty impressive. Mixing different genres, his style really shines through in these awesome singles, released one week apart, And I Need Ya and Supergirl.

I have a bit of a backlog of songs to be released at the moment. I'm currently writing faster than I can actually record or release them. So this was a way of getting a couple of them out there quickly and I just wanted to try something a bit different than an E.P. or double A-side release.

Kicking off with a gritty, distorted guitar riff, And I Need Ya pulls you in right away. It’s a full-throttle rock anthem, loaded with pounding drums and crashing guitars. Moran tears through a fiery solo that really shows off his chops—no holding back here.

Moran explains the writing and recording process;

Recording and producing my own work means I can play around in the studio with effects and sounds as much as I like. So I was playing with this delay effect and came up with the riff which sounded nice so I used it for this song that I was writing.

Supergirl carries a dark new-wave vibe, driven by Moran’s haunting vocals layered over moody synths and a looping guitar riff. It channels an unmistakable '80s atmosphere while still retaining a distinctly modern edge. Moran kept the track to himself since writing it a year ago, but finally felt it was time to share it, saying that;

I wrote it a year ago but it wasn't meant for release. Only myself and like, one other person ever heard it but I finally decided to let it out as songs are not supposed to be hidden. They're meant to be heard and it was time to let it fly. Pun intended!

Following in the footsteps of his previous releases, Moran played every instrument and produced both of these amazing new tracks himself, right from his studio in Co. Meath.
