Following on the heels of the single, Berlin
, alternative artist Liam Doyle, creates dreamlike soundscapes filled with piano, sweeping strings and moody guitars across his debut EP, Passed.
Recorded mostly in a spare bedroom in Kilkenny, this five-track EP explores death, nostalgia, regret, and that fun little mix of longing and acceptance we all pretend we have under control. The title, Passed
, plays on passed away and the past, because nothing says indie credibility like a double meaning.
The EP shows Doyles ability as a creative artist, creating melodic soundscapes on the dreamlike piano led, Glory
and Berlin
, to the more up-tempo, Smoke On Rivers
, packed with strings.
Dear Teenage Companion
takes a sonic-twist as Doyle performs a cappella
, supported with blended harmonies which leads to the closing track, Death Of An Islander
, with a haunting intro and delicate vocal delivery.
The EP, Passed, is available through all streaming platforms, including Bandcamp.
