Dublin singer-songwriter, Lauren Wallace, has an amazing ability for blending both new and established influences from contemporary pop. Developing her own sound, rooted in both modern pop and with an undeniably Indie flavour the 16 year old has no problem expressing her intimate, yet artful, lyrics.
In preparation of her upcoming EP in July, Lauren has released the latest single, Allegedly. A dreamy pop track, Laurens smooth vocals are showcased over an acoustic guitar, layers of syths and a rhythmic drum pattern.
Allegedly is definitely a shift from anything I've written before. I wrote it during Easter break last year while battling an annoyingly persistent case of writer's block in the studio. The only thing on my mind was the book I'd just finished re-reading — A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (which, honestly, is way scarier than it sounds, the last one had me convinced I was being stalked for days).
Somehow, that spiralled into writing a song about murder, which was something I'd never imagined myself doing, but I ended up completely in love with it.- Lauren Wallace
Lauren will be playing a Living Room
type show in Camden Studios ahead of her EP release later this month. Allegedly
is the third release from the EP but the first radio single and the first track of hers to be introduced to radio and press.
The single, Allegedly, is available through all streaming platforms.
