The Rising Irish Singer-Songwriter Steps Into Indie Rock Territory

Rapidly emerging as one of Ireland’s most exciting young musical voices, Lauren Wallace is continuing to carve out a sound that feels entirely her own. Blending emotionally honest songwriting with polished indie-pop production, the young artist has quickly become one to watch on the Irish music scene.

Following a breakthrough year in 2025, Wallace has built serious momentum. Her debut EP, Salt Stained Lungs, introduced listeners to a deeply personal collection of songs centred around growth, connection, and self-reflection. Tracks including People Who Love People, Allegedly, and Ghost earned strong radio support across Ireland, while People Who Love People climbed to No. 6 on the Irish Breakers Chart and remained in the Top 10 for four consecutive weeks.

Now, the 17-year-old artist returns with Mr Saving Grace, a track that pushes her sound in a bolder, more indie-rock direction. While her earlier releases leaned heavily into stripped-back emotional storytelling, this latest single arrives with sharper edges, driving percussion, and layers of electric guitar that give the song a much bigger punch.

The verses pull things back just enough to let Wallace’s vocals shine before exploding into an energetic, anthemic chorus that feels built for late-night drives and festival singalongs alike. It’s confident, catchy, and marks an exciting evolution in her sound.

Speaking about the single, Wallace explained how much fun she had exploring new musical influences in the studio and stepping away from the heartbreak-heavy ballads fans may expect from her. Instead, Mr Saving Grace embraces the idea that not every meaningful experience has to come from pain.

That idea really comes through in the track, she says, describing the recording process as both cathartic and creatively freeing. One of the highlights for the singer-songwriter was finally getting the chance to play electric guitar in the studio - something that adds even more personality and edge to the finished song.

What makes Mr Saving Grace stand out is how naturally Wallace balances vulnerability with confidence. The emotional honesty that defined her earlier music is still there, but this time it arrives wrapped in soaring guitars and indie-rock energy rather than delicate balladry.

If this single is any indication of where Lauren Wallace is heading next, she’s entering a seriously exciting phase of her career. Mr Saving Grace feels like the sound of an artist growing in confidence, experimenting with new textures, and discovering just how big her music can become.

Lauren is heading out on tour supporting Christopher Cross in the TF, Castlebar, Belfast's Ulster Hall and the Gleneagle Arena, Killarney as well as announcing her second headline show ever, in Workman's on Sept 17th.
