Formed by Cathal Flaherty (from Killarney) and Patrick Kelly (from Carlow) during the 2020 lockdown, Fake Friends debut single, Maybe,
released in early 2023, received significant airplay across Irish radio stations, including RTÉ Radio 1, Today FM, and FM104. The band quickly followed with Girlfriend
and Better
, equally matching the success of their debut.
Blending indie-rock with pop sensibilities, the latest single, Give It Up, marks a bold new chapter for the band. Combining powerful vocals, gritty guitar riffs, and anthemic choruses, the latest release showcases Fake Friends signature sound while pushing their creative boundaries to new heights.
The band have been working on new music at Dublin Studio Hub with producer Larry Hogan, with more releases anticipated in 2025.
