The Threads Turn Up the Volume with New Punk Anthem ‘Pint Man’

Dublin Four-Piece Deliver Another Gritty Pub-Rock Banger

If there’s one thing The Threads are proving right now, it’s that they’re not here to play things safe. Loud, fast and unapologetically real, the Dublin four-piece continue to carve out their own lane with the release of their latest single, Pint Man.

Blending raw punk rock chaos with a no-frills rock sound, The Threads have built their reputation on three simple rules - play hard, play fast and don’t take yourselves too seriously. It’s a formula that has already earned the band a growing following across Dublin’s live music scene.

The lads have become familiar faces at iconic venues like The Workman's Club and The Sound House, where their intense, high-energy performances have made serious noise. Thankfully, that same live-wire energy has translated perfectly into the studio.

Following the release of their debut single, Sunday Pint, and the equally tongue-in-cheek follow-up, One More Pint, there’s clearly a theme developing in The Threads universe. And honestly, we’re fully on board with it.

Pint Man kicks off with a crunching guitar riff before launching headfirst into a pounding punk-rock rhythm. The driving beat and rough-edged instrumentation give the track a gritty urgency, while the conversational vocal delivery balances melody with pure rowdy pub energy.

Lyrically, the song paints a familiar picture - the local pub character who always has a pint in hand, a story to tell and nowhere else to be. It’s relatable, witty and packed with personality, which is exactly what makes The Threads stand out from so many up-and-coming punk bands right now.

The single also arrives alongside the band’s debut EP, SPLITTIN’ G’S, marking another major step forward for the group who have been playing together since their university days. That chemistry is obvious throughout the track, with every riff, beat and shout-along moment sounding tight without ever losing its rough-around-the-edges charm.

With Pint Man, The Threads continue to build momentum as one of the most exciting rising names in the Irish punk rock scene. If this latest release is anything to go by, the lads are only getting louder.
