All My Life- Dublin-based artist embraces late-blooming music journey
There’s something refreshing happening in Dublin right now, and it goes by the name PRTLND. Since 2022, the Dublin-based artist has been quietly making up for lost time. After sitting on the idea for nearly two decades, PRTLND (the project of Mathieu, now 48) finally stepped into making his own music. No big rebrand, no chasing trends - just a clear decision to start. And not to sound young, but to sound real.
That honesty is exactly what’s starting to turn heads.
On stage, PRTLND has been building a word-of-mouth reputation the old-fashioned way: raw performances, stripped-back storytelling, and a kind of presence that makes the room feel smaller - in a good way. There’s no barrier, no persona, just the music and the moment. It’s the kind of live show people talk about afterward.
And while the approach has been low-key, the numbers are beginning to catch up. With over 60,000 career streams and growing attention, it’s getting harder to keep this project under the radar.
Up to now, releases have landed without much fuss - no big campaigns, no heavy promo push. But that quiet rollout might be coming to an end. With more tracks lined up through 2026, PRTLND has just dropped a new single, All My Life, and it feels like a turning point.
The track leans into hesitation - those years spent waiting for the right time
- and the shift that happens when you finally stop holding back. Sonically, it’s a punchy mix: high-gain guitars, tight melodic hooks, and a backbone that nods to classic ‘50s and ‘60s pop-rock. But the distortion and layered textures drag it firmly into the present. It’s nostalgic, but not stuck. Reflective, but not regretful.
Speaking about his music Mathieu says;
I spent twenty years wondering if I should do this. 2026 is the year I finally stopped hiding behind the studio desk. I'm 48, and I want to show others that the timeline for following a passion is entirely up to you.
PRTLND isn’t trying to catch up anymore - he’s just getting started.
The single, All My Life, is available through all streaming platforms.
