There’s something quietly magnetic happening in Dublin right now, and Picture Postcard are right at the centre of it. Since forming in 2024, the band have been on a steady upward climb, carving out a name for themselves in the indie scene with a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new. Think hazy, reverb-soaked shoegaze textures colliding with the raw emotional punch of late ‘90s and early ‘00s emo and post-hardcore, and you’re somewhere in their orbit.
It’s been a hectic ride for the Dublin outfit, who recently inked a deal with independent Irish label Never Meant Records - a move that feels less like a milestone and more like a natural next step.
2025 saw the release of their debut single October
, quickly followed by Returning
, two tracks that put them firmly on the radar. Since then, they’ve been locked away in the studio, building momentum and shaping what’s next. And while a debut EP is on the horizon, they’ve given us something to hold onto in the meantime: their latest single, Wherever You’re Meant To Be.
Right from the jump, the track hits with that signature Picture Postcard wall of sound-heavy, modulated guitars crashing in like a tide. It’s modern shoegaze at its core, but there’s a grit underneath it, a kind of emotional urgency that keeps it grounded. Layered vocals drift in and out of the mix, synths shimmer beneath the surface, and everything is drenched in reverb, creating this lush, almost dreamlike atmosphere you can sink into.
But what really makes it stick is how effortlessly they balance those textures with that familiar emo rawness. It scratches that nostalgic itch without ever feeling like a throwback act—this is a band pushing things forward, not looking back.
As the first taste of their upcoming EP, the latest track feels like a statement. Recorded by band member and producer AJ Das and mastered by Max Lajoie (Spite House), it captures exactly what Picture Postcard are about right now: big sound, bigger feeling.
And it’s only the beginning. With their debut EP set to land soon, the band are already lining up an Irish tour for the end of May. If their recorded work is anything to go by, catching them live should be high on your list.
Consider this your heads-up - Picture Postcard are only getting started.
