Indie rockers Ultras return with anthemic new single

Dublin’s own Ultras are a five-piece indie rock band with a knack for turning real life into big, emotional guitar tunes. Their songs dive into everything from national pride and emigration to romance, community, and the kind of dreams you whisper to your mates after a night out. Think early-2000s indie energy, but with extra bite and a whole lot of heart.

The band first came together through MyBand, a local music program run by Beardfire Recording Studio. They started out jamming covers of the greats, clicked instantly, and the rest is history.

Since then, Ultras have been carving out their place on the live circuit, and their previous singles With the Sound and Who Did It even picked up national airplay across Europe and the U.S. Not bad for a band that started in a music workshop.

Now they’re back with a brand-new single, The Dream, and it’s a proper indie-rock firecracker, punchy guitars, big choruses, and all the emotion you’d expect from Ultras.

Lyrically, The Dream follows a girl caught between wild nights out and the pressures of growing up, all while trying to chase something bigger than herself. It’s chaotic, heartfelt, and very much rooted in the experience of dreaming big in a small country.

The track was produced at Beardfire Recording and Production Studio, bringing the band full circle to where it all began.
