Having recently won the Music Moves Europe Award, trio Kingfishr, continue the momentum with their latest release, Man On The Moon.
Man On The Moon
represents a bold evolution in the Kingfishr sound. As ever, Eddie Keogh's rich, thunderous voice sizzles with emotional intensity and is supported by an enticingly modern take on Irish roots music. This time however, they bring some widescreen open road indie/alt drama into the mix with echoes of The War on Drugs and Sam Fender.
Lyrically it's inspired by the band's desire to share their own instantly relatable truths: in this case the innate need to pursue your passions.
Man On The Moon' is about betraying yourself, and what that does to a person. In Dante's Inferno, the final circle of hell is reserved for betrayers. It's hard to overstate how destructive it is to not follow your heart, the song deals with this.- Eddie Keough
It's only February and already everything is heating up in the continued rise of Ireland's Kingfishr. The trio were recently nominated for Irish Breakthrough Artist at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Awards, while on the live front they have completed a European tour with James Bay and seen their summer outdoor headline shows in Dublin and Limerick sell out months in advance. Everything primes the band to build upon a career total of 70 million streams to date.
Having supported Bruce Springsteen, George Ezra, Tom Walker and Snow Patrol and played the Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Electric Picnic, Isle of Wight and Rock Werchter festivals, 2025 will see Kingfishr perform a number of dates in Ireland and the UK:
