Since dropping his debut single Already Been Told back in 2024, Johnluke has been steadily building a body of work that has put the emerging singer-songwriter on an exciting path through Ireland’s music scene.

Blending pop, rock, folk and country with a natural passion for storytelling, Johnluke has carved out his own corner of Irish music. Along the way, he’s been putting in the miles on the live circuit too, developing a reputation through shows at venues and festivals across the country.

In 2025, he landed support slots at three sold-out shows in Whelan’s, Dublin, sharing bills with Mark O’Donnell, Simple Things and Jamie McIntyre. He also had the honour of opening for Paddy Casey at his show in Loughrea.

But one of the biggest milestones so far came when Johnluke stepped things up with his own headline shows.

Joined by his three-piece band, his Comical Romance Tour saw him play to a sold-out audience at Monroe’s in Galway before returning to Dublin for a headline show upstairs at Whelan’s.

And now, there’s plenty more on the way.

Comical Romance Vol. 2 Continues the Story

Johnluke has recently been preparing for the release of his new EP, Comical Romance Vol. 2, a five-song collection built around the timeline of a relationship.

Across the five tracks, the story follows that all-too-familiar emotional rollercoaster: nervously falling in love, slowly realising you might have found your person, only for everything to fall apart and leave you alone once again.

Basically, romance in all its wonderfully messy glory.

Now, Johnluke continues his run of feel-good summer anthems with his new single Let Me Love You, the third release taken from Comical Romance Vol. 2 and the latest chapter in this summer-soaked love story.

Let Me Love You Gets Straight to the Point

There’s no hanging around here.

Let Me Love You skips the lengthy intro and gets moving from the opening seconds. Driven by acoustic guitar, the track carries a heartfelt country-folk sound with a lively, feel-good beat underneath it.

It’s catchy and melodic, with the kind of sing-along chorus that feels destined to be belted back from a packed room.

There are no gimmicks going on either. Instead, Johnluke leans into classic songwriting and simply lets the song do the work.

The production gives the delicate string work plenty of room to breathe, while Johnluke’s vocal remains firmly at the centre of everything. Nothing overpowers anything else, giving the track a natural warmth that perfectly suits its straightforward romantic message.

And that message really is simple: sometimes you just have to put your cards on the table.

Speaking about the track, Johnluke explains:

Let Me Love You, tells the story of someone slowly falling for another person, as those feelings grow stronger and impossible to ignore. It's a sincere plea from one heart to another, asking them to simply take a chance on love: “Would you just fall in love with me and let me love you?

That sincerity is where Let Me Love You really finds its charm.

There’s something refreshingly straightforward about the track. Rather than dressing the story up in layers of production, Johnluke sticks with acoustic instrumentation, melody and storytelling.

Sometimes, that’s all you need.

Johnluke Takes Comical Romance Back on Tour

The new release arrives as Johnluke prepares to hit the road again with his Comical Romance Tour, presented by Singular Artists.

The tour takes in four venues around Ireland, kicking things off at Mike the Pies in Listowel on November 12th, before heading to The Workman’s Club in Dublin on November 15th.

Next up is Róisín Dubh in Galway on November 20, before Johnluke wraps things up at The Record Room in Limerick on November 27th.

And after previously selling out Monroe’s in Galway, there should be plenty of anticipation around seeing what the singer and his full band bring to the stage this time around.

Speaking about his return to the live scene, Johnluke says:

I'm so buzzed to get back on the stage with my full band and to share some of the new songs I've been working on and bring them to life live in your city! These songs will feature on Vol. 2 of Comical Romance. These venues are all iconic. From watching shows in them to now having the chance to step onto the stage myself, I can't wait!

With new material to bring to life and Comical Romance Vol. 2 continuing to take shape, these shows should give fans the chance to hear the next stage of Johnluke’s story where songs like Let Me Love You arguably belong - in front of a live crowd.

Final Verdict: Johnluke – Let Me Love You

With Let Me Love You Johnluke delivers a warm and instantly likeable slice of country-folk that proves you don’t need to overcomplicate things to make a song connect.

The acoustic guitar keeps everything grounded, the lively beat gives the track its feel-good lift, and Johnluke’s vocal sits naturally at the heart of it all. But it’s the chorus that really seals the deal - melodic, memorable and made for a crowd to sing straight back at him.

There’s an old-school simplicity to the songwriting that works firmly in its favour. No gimmicks, no unnecessary production tricks, just a sincere story about falling for someone and finally finding the courage to say it out loud.

Tickets for Johnluke’s upcoming Comical Romance Tour are available through Ticketmaster and participating venue websites.
