Fake Friends Are Ready For Their Next Chapter With Latest Release, Let Me Go
Formed during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, Irish duo Fake Friends, made up of Cathal Flaherty and Patrick Kelly, have wasted little time making their mark on the independent music scene.
Over the past few years, the pair have built serious momentum through a string of successful singles, combining catchy songwriting with an energetic indie-pop sound. Now, after a whirlwind 12 months of writing and recording, Fake Friends are back with what they describe as their most exciting release yet, Let Me Go.
And judging by the track, they might have a point.

The trip saw Fake Friends visit six cities, perform live and connect with major figures within the Chinese entertainment industry.
For an independent Irish act, that's a pretty impressive next step.

Fake Friends themselves certainly aren't short on confidence when it comes to the new release.

It's another major opportunity for a band that looks increasingly ready to take things to the next level.
With more new music reportedly in the pipeline and plenty happening throughout 2026 and into 2027, Fake Friends look like a duo worth keeping firmly on the radar.
