Dermot Kennedy Continues His Incredible Rise With The Weight of the Woods

The announcement comes after a phenomenal 2026 for Dermot Kennedy, which saw the release of his third studio album, The Weight of the Woods. The record reached number one in both Ireland and the UK, with Dermot making UK chart history as the first Irish solo artist to top the albums chart with each of his first three studio releases.

The album's success was accompanied by major arena tours across the UK and Europe, alongside two historic sold-out concerts at Dublin's Aviva Stadium. Dermot has also been bringing his music to audiences across North America, further cementing his reputation as one of Ireland's most successful international artists.

From Irish Street Busker to International Music Star

Dermot Kennedy's journey from busking on the streets of Ireland to selling out stadiums around the world has been nothing short of remarkable. With more than four billion streams across platforms and platinum certifications in over 12 countries, the Dublin singer-songwriter has built a devoted global following through his distinctive voice and deeply personal songwriting.

His debut album, Without Fear, became the best-selling debut album in Ireland this millennium, establishing him as a major force in Irish music. He followed it with the acclaimed Sonder in 2022, before returning to a more intimate sound on his introspective 2024 EP, I've told the trees everything.

Along the way, Dermot has shared the stage with some of contemporary music's biggest names, including Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan and Luke Combs. His ability to combine raw emotion with soaring melodies has also earned praise from fellow artists Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes, highlighting the widespread appeal of his music.
