Ryan Cashell steps out on his own with debut single

Music Review | 8th Nov, 2025 Ryan Cashell Cashell

You might know Ryan Cashell as the frontman of Dublin’s indie-rock outfit Brass Phantoms, but these days, he’s carving out his own path as a solo artist, and it’s sounding seriously good.

Cashell’s not new to songwriting success either. He’s penned tracks that landed in Champions League adverts and picked up plenty of radio love for tunes like City of Wolves, Waiting Up, and Disciples. And when he’s not behind the mic, you can usually find him onstage, from Ireland to the UK, and even New York.

Now, Cashell’s kicking off his solo chapter with Said and Done, his debut single. Built on a looping chord pattern, the track draws you in with its hypnotic groove. There’s something raw and real here, fuzzy guitars hum beneath Cashell’s crooner-style vocals, somewhere between sing-speaking and murmuring confessions. When the chorus hits, harmonies soften things up, giving it a dreamy pop edge before crashing back into that gritty guitar drone.

Said and Done was recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely in Cashell’s home studio in Scotland, DIY spirit at its finest.
