Airies Air Push Their Sound Further With The Wedge
Starting out as an experiment between three friends in Belfast, Airies Air have grown from a passion project into a full-fledged band making their mark across Ireland.
The band have quickly developed a sound that isn't afraid to push against the boundaries of conventional songwriting. Odd time signatures, cross rhythms, complex verses and soaring choruses have become part of their musical identity.
Their debut single, Elsewhere
, attracted plenty of early attention from listeners and industry tastemakers, before they followed it with Kaiju - an ambitious eight-minute track that took things firmly into experimental territory.
Now Airies Air are back with The Wedge, and it's arguably their most ambitious release yet.

Builds Slowly Before Letting Loose

A heavy bassline gives the song a restless pulse, while the rhythm continually shifts underneath it. The guitars play a big part in keeping things moving, switching between simple picking, heavier riffs and chunky, distorted chords as the track progresses.
It's a great example of how Airies Air can make complex musicianship feel purposeful rather than simply showing off their technical ability.
