Alt-rock act Vernon Jane releases reflective anthem

Breaking down gender stereotypes and giving a new voice to women, alt rockers Vernon Jane are one of the most exciting new bands to emerge on the Irish scene in recent years.

Following the successful release of their second album, Chestpains and Sidepieces, the band now returns with their latest single, Get Bettr.

Get Bettr begins at a slow pace with moody tones until the track changes gear as drums and guitars come crashing in, leading it to a rock-anthem finish.

Speaking about the track the alt-rock artist says;

Get Bettr is a reflection of the guilt and shame sometimes felt with grief. Feeling guilty for becoming a better version of yourself without the person you lost being here to see it. Feeling guilty for moving forward and wanting to stay stuck in the same place in honour of the person you lost. Grief is the purest form of love but it can eat away.
Staying totally stuck in the same moment, place, and feeling after losing someone can feel like the only way to show them you loved them so much, but slowly a realization comes that the best way to honour the people we have lost is to live our lives full of joy and love for both them and ourselves.
Getting Better sounds so positive but just like all change it is so terrifying and who even knows what getting better really means, it does not happen all at once, and grief is something you never really get better from, the ache just dulls little by little but is always there.
