Formed in 2012 by songwriter Nick Petty, The Happys have made a mark with their energetic music and savvy guerrilla marketing. Having already released two full-length albums, Trippin
and ADHD,
and an EP titled Bipolar
, the band are preparing for the release of their latest full album expected in Spring 2025.
The band have dropped their latest single She Found Love, which features Sublime's
Eric Wilson on Vocals. Speaking about the track Front man Nick Petty says;
She Found Love, is a song that reflects on that special someone you had love for, moving forward in life, and finding new love. It's nostalgia of the good times spent with the one you carried loved for, and having to come to terms with their new life alongside someone else.
I wrote it about an unhinged character, as I can become often, and feel I resonate with. For this character, it's a significant realization to accept someone they care for and miss so much, moving onto a new life.
Daniel Lonner, the lead singer of the band, Spray Allen, recorded the song at Eric Wilson, of Sublime's, residence and studio in San Diego, CA. In addition to his stint in Sublime where he plays alongside his best friend's son, Jakob Nowell, Eric's second band is, Spray Allen. The band often jams at Eric's studio, and we've been lucky to hang out there and get closer with the musicians. Lonner had me play many of the songs I'd written for him. He picked one and selected two parts to work on. It reminds me of the way that my band, The Happys, also works together. Sometimes I write the whole song or short parts and then bring it to the band to see which ones resonate more with them at the time. Lonner mixed our song with his own unique style added along.
The single She Found Love is available through all streaming platforms.
