Singer, songwriter Siomha Hennessy releases the highly anticipated single

Dublin born Siomha Hennessy is an artist with a number of strings to her bow. The singer songwriters one woman comedy cabaret The Coil's Lament garnered acclaim and 5 star reviews after sold-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe and in Dublin Fringe 2023.

Hennessy effortlessly blends stand up comedy with musical pieces, while performing her own original tracks.

The artist has performed with many other artists on the Irish folk scene, with several TV and radio appearances along with previously releasing music as a member of pop duo Sisterix.

The latest track from Hennessy is This Party, a melodic upbeat sounding track with Siomha's smooth vocals over a layer of strings.

Lyrically This Party describes the universal experience of oversharing with strangers at a party, and waking up mortified the next morning.

Speaking about the track the singer songwriter says;

I wrote - This Party - in the throes of the fear which is a uniquely Irish term that describes the doom filled sensation of remembering the absolute sh**e you talked after a few drinks, and to whom you might now have to apologize, in the cold light of day.

However, under the comedy of the lyrics, the song has a deeper message - about our longing as humans to connect with each other, to feel understood, and to be seen.

These are also the themes that run through my Edinburgh hour as well – it's basically one big question asked in many different ways..."Am I a freak, or do you feel this way too?
