Galways Rachel Goode is an award-winning classically trained Soprano with a strong love for folk and has performed in all the major venues throughout Ireland including The Bord Gais Energy Theatre, The National Opera House, and The Helix just to name a few.
Inspired by singers such as Maura O'Connell and Eva Cassidy, Rachels style is Folk with a touch of blues and Americana as can be heard in her strong vocals.
Rachel continues to build her mark on Irelands music scene with the release of her third single, Blue Kentucky Blues, from the much anticipated upcoming debut album.
Lyrically Blue Kentucky Blues
tells the story of a hobo who learned the blues on the harmonica as he rode the rail. He now returns to the mountains to play out his final tunes with the ghosts of the Kentucky mountains.
Recorded completely live in the studio , this folk song has very strong Americana, Bluegrass, Country and Blues influences which can be heard right away.
The song is written by Johnny B Broderick and Ger O'Donnell, who also wrote My refuge
for Dolores Keane.
