Dublin based artist Kate Field creates her own world of truth, heartache, highs and lows with clever melancholic wordplay offset by optimistic melodies with layers of sarcasm.

Addressing the obsession people have with stardom the latest single Legacy is the lead track taken from Kate's EP And The Persian Rugs.

The track is an upbeat unique brand of alternative rock with melodic vocals, chugging guitar, heavy bassline and a catchy chorus.

Lyrically Legacy was penned as a response to Kate's friend who grappled with an insatiable thirst for fame and success, ultimately leading to a detrimental spiral as he placed these aspirations above all else.

As Kate crafted the song, she came to a profound realization that many of us are prone to this inclination. We often perceive ourselves as mere symbols or ideals, neglecting our humanity in pursuit of leaving behind a noteworthy Legacy rather than savouring the richness of life.

Speaking about the track Kate says

In the lyrics - to walk like a Marilyn, to talk like a Kennedy - I wanted to imply that we all want to be perceived as attractive yet powerful with a story that stands the tests of time
