Immersed in Ireland's rich musical landscape, Just Alice continues to carve out a space all of her own. The 23-year-old Alice Laffan draws on the influences from Irish traditional storytelling from artists such as Luke Kelly, but with a fresh modern feel.
The latest single, Good Thing, captures the artists stunning vocals laid bare over a strummed acoustic guitar and subtle percussion. A tongue-in-cheek track, Alice delivers sweet Southern-twanged vocals, parceled with some Irish flair.
I wrote this song before I ever knew what it was about. The meaning came to me after I stopped holding my breath and realised that, although we may not believe it at the time, a difficult choice can be a good thing.- Just Alice
Debuting only last year with soaring single, Wait
, the young artist has gone on to perform across a range of live settings, from cozy Irish pub gigs to Electric Picnic, and international appearances at the Maryland Irish Festival and An Poitin Stil in the U.S.
The single, Good Thing, is available through all streaming platforms.
