Alt-Rockers Band Forty Foot Release Stunning New Single

Music Review | 24th Aug, 2024 Forty Foot Forty Foot

Formed in 2019, Dublin band Forty Foot have been making a name for themselves in the alternative rock scene following a number of releases which received positive reviews from the music press.

The latest release from the band is the single Toothache, a track with new-wave tones driven by a fuzzy bassline. With catchy hooks, melodic vocals and lead guitar drenched in chorus effects Toothache grabs the listener by the collar.

When asked about the meaning of the track and where the lyrics stemmed from the band says;

It's a track about things that happen in the nighttime hours, let's leave it at that.

To capture their sound and bottle this feeling the band made the decision to record in their own rehearsal space. Turning to long time collaborator Conor McLoughlin of Dublin rock sweethearts Sick Love to engineer and mix the track.

While some bands want to write a song like the bands, or support a big touring act, Forty Foot approached this track with a different ambition.

The band crafted the track in an effort to earn a spot on the soundtrack of EA Sports' iconic football video game FIFA, a launchpad for many emerging artists.

With Toothache, a quintessential 90's tinged alt rock track, they might have done just that.
