Hailing from Co.Tipperary singer-songwriter Cormac Looby draws inspiration from a range of artists including Mick Flannery, Bell X1, Phoebe Bridgers and Sam Fender, combining elements of folk, pop, and rock.
With a number of releases under his belt since his debut single I Don't Need Your Love
in 2020, Cormac has continued to carve a name for himself in the Irish music scene.
2024 is set to be a busy year for the artist as he releases his debut album; A Perpetual State of Irony
, a ten track album recorded by Cormac and his live band and the artists most ambitious and exciting project to date.
Ahead of the album release is a fresh new single Ordinary Woman, a song that finds its roots in a thought-provoking piece of graffiti Cormac stumbled upon during his time living in Galway: Don't be a fearful old crone, be a young Irish rebel.
This powerful statement sparked a creative journey, culminating in a tribute to the quiet courage exhibited every day by women, in the face of the constant threat of gender-based violence.
The single Ordinary Woman is available through all streaming platforms.
