Singer-songwriters, Cormac Lobby and Lorraine Nash, team up for new single

Music Review | 17th May, 2025 Cormac Lobby And Lorraine Nash Cormac Lobby And Lorraine Nash

Co. Tipperary native, Cormac Lobby, is an artist who combines elements of folk, pop, and rock; with introspective and honest song-writing. The latest release from the artist, Catch It, is taken from Cormacs debut album, A Perpetual State of Irony (2024), and features Kerry folk-singer, Lorraine Nash.

With a backing consisting of plucked guitar and stringed accompaniment, Catch It, is a delicate sounding track with beautiful harmonizing between Lobby and Nash. Lyrically the latest single explores the process of making peace with discovering new aspects of your identity as you grow older. Providing further context to the song, Looby explains:

I had just moved home to Tipperary from Galway with a newly-operated knee, a broken elbow, an infected nose ring and was feeling a little bit broken, and quite reflective.

The track was produced by fellow Tipperary artist, Seanie Bermingham, and mixed by Cian Hamilton of Middle Ridge Studios.

Cormac’s music has featured on RTE Radio 1 Recommends, BBC Introducing and he has headlined venues like Roisin Dubh, Workman’s Club and two sold-out shows in Whelan’s Upstairs. He has supported acts such as Niamh Regan, David Keenan, Maria Kelly, Seba Safe and last year opened the show for Ye Vagabonds and Susan O’Neill at the ‘When Next We Meet’ festival in Tipperary.
