Formed in the wake of Covid Blue Slate's musical mission has been to forge a sound that would allow them to explore a vast sonic territory and not be boxed into any one genre or set of rules.
The past two years has been a creative period for the band as they spent their time crafting an ever-evolving sound that has caught the attention of music fans and critics.
The latest release from the band is Beaker, a track that began life as a slow folk song before each member added their parts transforming it into the song we hear today. The only remnants of its original folk inception can be heard in the verse in the acoustic guitar embellishments.
Opening with distorted riffs Beaker
is an up-tempo guitar driven track with melodic hooks, heavy bass-lines and a punchy chorus.
The track was recorded in August last year, seeking peace and space for creative freedom the band set out for three days at Transmission Rooms in Longford, with producer Keelan O Reilly.
The single Blue Slate is available through all streaming platforms.
