Blending alternative-rock, pop and Indie-soul, Dublin-based group Big Sleep take influence from acts such as The Cure, Pixies, J.J. Cale, and Big Thief. Since the release of their debut EP in June 2022, the band has been touring heavily in addition to receiving regular international radio play.
Written over a 12 month period, the latest release from the 4-piece is the long awaited EP, Stay Put Sunshine, packed with garage and alt-rock vibes with melodic hooks.
Speaking about their latest release the band say;
Stay Put Sunshine is an ode to all of the things that have made our lives full since starting this journey of being in this band; friendship, love, heartbreak and art. Some songs capture our experiences from the road, getting to play shows around Europe and the journey that pursuing art for a career has brought us on. Other songs are about falling in and out of love, experiences we've all been lucky enough to share and be by each other's side for since being in this band.
Working with Chris Ryan on the EP was a blast especially since we've been fans of his work with NewDad and Just Mustard for a while now. Since then he feels like part of the band too. We recorded over the course of a week in Belfast, partly in Start Together Studios but overdubs were done in Chris' home studio. Then we found a Nashville based producer, Tone Def to mix the EP through listening to Briston Maroney to bring it all together
Stay Put Sunshine
is the third EP from the rising act and features the singles Go
, Daisy
, All My Friends
and Two Cents
, which reached number 4 in the Irish Breakers Radio Charts on its release.
The EP Stay Put Sunshine is available through all streaming platforms.
