Indie band All You Can Hate release stunning debut EP

Music Review | 5th Feb, 2025 All You Can Hate Nothing Lasts Forever (Cover Artwork)

Indie band, All You Can Hate, are a four-piece who embody post-punk and Midwest emo influences with shoegaze touches, never straying far from catchy pop melodies. Lyrically they explore social isolation and dependence on social media, the desire to change the world and the feeling of powerlessness, love, and hate.

Releasing their debut single Choices in 2024, the band followed up with two more singles, I Dont Care and Not Gonna Change The World, gaining critical acclaim. Further cementing their name in the indie-rock scene the band has released their debut EP, Nothing Lasts Forever.

The EP draws from personal experience to elevate into universal reflection, delving into the often conflicted and dialectical relationship between the individual and society. The tracks explore the existential drama of choice, the perpetual confrontation with the other, the alienation brought on by social media and its impact on mental health, disillusionment with traditional love, and the tormenting question of whether the other is the root of one's misery or a possibility for redemption.

The title embodies a dual perspective: a nihilism that sees emptiness and the absence of meaning as the only antidotes to suffering, and a latent optimism that reminds us that even pain, depression, and apathy are destined to fade away. In the landscape of post-modern society, where even personal values falter, the EP becomes a mirror of existential unease, leaving the listener to discern between a salvific nihilism or a melancholic surrender to pessimism.
