Alt-Indie four-piece Adult Leisure continue to make a name for themselves in the alternative rock/pop scene with their latest release, Borderline.
The latest single from the band is a melodic alt-rock/pop track that combines synth and guitar riffs with explosive drums while the lyrics explore the emotions that come after the end of a long-term relationship.
Formed in 2020, the band released a string of celebrated singles before unveiling their debut critically acclaimed EP The Weekend Ritual
(2022), which earned them multiple positive reviews along the way.
The band then followed up with the release their second studio EP Present State of Joy and Grief
(2023) along with a tour of the UK and a number of festival appearances.
Speaking about their latest track the band say;
Dave had sent through a Police-y style demo back last April (2023) and we knew we wanted this to be the next release after our second EP, it felt like a continuation of our sound.
Borderline was inspired by the break-up of a long term relationship around that time for Neil and the feeling of hindsight in the months following it. We always try to write from a personal perspective, however these feelings are so common amongst people that there's a strange balance of the situation being incredibly personal yet not alone.
We allowed ourselves more time in the recording process to try new things and develop our sound, and with thanks to our producer Ollie, we feel it's sonically our best song to date.
The single Borderline is available through all streaming platforms.
